Health Services at Newport Children Centre
There is the foundation of a programme for delivering health services direct to the community through the Children Centre. The aim is that it will provide a 'one stop' place where parents can come and access many services that will help children and families in the early years.
At the moment the services include:
Speech and Language Therapy - Rhyme Time on Tuesdays
Work in the Nursery – Thursdays
Special Needs - Community Nursery Nurse makes regular visits
Visitor makes contact with children and parents through the nursery.
Dietitian - A new service which will be available in the Autumn term and will offer a range of healthy options for food for children and families.
In the Autumn, when we have moved in to the new premises there will also be a regular session for midwife support when mothers can make times for ante natal and post natal appointments.
There will also be a range of service to help parents with babies and young children.
This will include some work on smoking cessation groups
and involvement of Dads with a growing family.
